About this tool
Characters are counted as Unicode code points, so emojis and accented letters count as one character each — the same way most platforms count them. The “no spaces” figure removes spaces, tabs and line breaks.
Common limits: X/Twitter 280, SMS 160 (70 if it contains emoji or non-Latin characters), Google meta descriptions ~155–160 and title tags ~60 characters.

Do spaces count as characters?
Yes, in most limits (X, SMS, meta tags) spaces count. Some school assignments specify characters without spaces, which is shown separately.
Do emojis count as one character?
Here they count as one. X counts most emoji as two characters toward its 280 limit, so leave a little margin.
What is the character limit for an Instagram bio?
150 characters. Captions allow up to 2,200.
